On a separate matter, Nicole Wong reiterated MCA Youth’s stand against the abolition of the death penalty.

‘‘MCA Youth has launched a petition against the abolition of death penalty, and we stand with the people who are in support of this movement. We will be working hand in hand with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in sit-ins and demonstrations to rally against the government’s move on abolishing the death sentence.’’

On allocations for Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) being slashed to RM5.5 million, Nicole Wong urged the government to not politicise the issue by treating all educational institutions equally so that talented graduates in various fields can be produced continuously.
