Well done & congratulations to Khalifa Affnan, winner of the Cambridge Dedicated Teacher global award

MCA Youth extends our heartiest congratulations to Khalifa Affnan, a teacher at Keningau Vocational College in Sabah for winning the 2022 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards which is an international award, organiwed by Cambridge University Press.

Khalifa has made history by beating over 7,000 other nominations from 113 countries.

This is the first time a Malaysian teacher has emerged champion and won an award at the Asian and global level, thus being named a Cambridge Dedicated Teacher.

Previously, Khalifa was shortlisted as one of the regional winners from the Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia region, and now,  he emerges as an award winner globally.

MCA Youth is also proud of the achievements of this young teacher from Sabah as a world champion.

The dedication and seriousness shown by Khalifa in providing vocational training to his students in the field of robotics, drones, coding and other technology-based disciplines as part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) project has made Malaysia famous in the world stage.

Among the factors that contributed to Khalifa's triumph were his efforts to ensure that female students at the college and special needs learners participated actively in STEM activities.

Khalifa's commitment leaves a positive impact on all students in his community as well as opens up opportunities for high quality STEM education for members of the Keningau local community.

The success carved by Khalifa has not only made the country famous but also raises the local teaching profession to an international level, especially in STEM.

This proves that teachers in Malaysia have a very competitive edge and are able to master the skills required in STEM.

Once again, MCA Youth congratulates Khalifa and hopes he will remain outstanding in the profession.
