PERAK MCA Chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon hopes that the culprits who killed a mini-market owner during a break-in in Jelapang, last week will be caught and brought to justice quickly. 

Dr Mah said he was greatly saddened by the incident the incident that occurred on Nov 28, and the police will do all they can to catch the killers.

“I would like to convey my deepest sympathy to the family of the late Sem Ah Yem. It was truly a tragic incident,” he told reporters after paying his last respect to Sem at his house in Buntong.

“I hope justice will be served to those responsible,” he said.

According to the police, the incident is believed to have occurred between 10pm on Monday and 8am Tuesday last week. The suspects escaped with RM80,000 in cash.

Having spoken to Sem’s grieving family, Dr Mah said he found out that Sem was a hardworking and dedicated person.

“He managed to improve his small sundry shop enough to turn it a mini-market,” he said, adding that it was quite an achievement.
