Press statement by MCA Vice President Datuk Tan Teik Cheng

Muhyiddin never left the ‘Malay first’ mentality; Lim Kit Siang the one who has changed?

Following PPBM President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s repetition of the ‘Malay first’ remark, will DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang muster the courage to lambast him again, like what he did while in the Opposition?

Or will Lim Kit Siang maintain dignified silence, in his usual style after becoming part of a ruling party?

Everyone is watching closely to see if Lim Kit Siang still has the courage to chastise Muhyiddin and openly express his dissatisfaction towards him. Or will he make a U-turn to support Muhyiddin instead, and twist the racist remark as the direction of Pakatan government’s policy?

During the Barisan Nasional era, Muhyiddin had issued the ‘Malay first, Malaysian second’ remark repeatedly, which was condemned by Lim Kit Siang as being racist, terrible and irresponsible. Lim Kit Siang has even compared Muhyiddin side by side to Utusan Melayu, describing both as Malaysia’s number 1 and 2 extremists, and were the biggest threat to Malaysia’s policies.

Now that Muhyiddin has ‘jumped ship’ to Pakatan Harapan, and again issued the ‘Malay first’ remark. This has not only affirmed his racist mentality, but we are also curious, as to whether Lim Kit Siang still hold the same stand and principle on Muhyiddin’s remark?

Lim Kit Siang must declare his stand on this matter. Hopefully he can come forward and explain before the people!
