Press statement by MCA Publicity Spokesman (English/Bahasa Malaysia) Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker

Sin Woon was reminding Guan Eng of his past deeds & words

MCA Youth Chairman Datuk Chong Sin Woon’s statement referring to Lim Guan Eng as “Tokong” or deity-like was just a verbal exchange by Sin Woon reminding the Penang Chief Minister that he should not have arrogantly belittled BN rule and parties in the past.

Lim Guan Eng and DAP had in the past exploited the unfortunate incident of the missing MH370 and told the whole world that this was the doing of an irresponsible BN and that the world should not trust the BN Government (https://youtu.be/WDrdnDVDQH8). This was done in poor taste and disregard of the pains, sufferings and loss of the victims family.

When Pahang state was flooded, the Bagan MP had in the past claimed that DAP could solve all floods and irrigation problems in the state within one term if it won Pahang and Putrajaya. He had spoken in such a condescending manner at a time whereby others were reaching out to help and render assistance to the flood victims. He had again arrogantly dismissed the possibility of an “act of God” and be sympathetic and compassionate towards the victims.

During the Kelantan floods from Dec 2014 to Jan 2015, Lim Guan Eng’s father Lim Kit Siang had put on a show and media display of traveling all the way to Kelantan in a first time political roadshow of compassion very unlike DAP or its political culture of exaggeration and hostility.

It was in this context that Sin Woon was reminding Guan Eng not to be deity-like and exercise some humility as “kadangkala malang menimpa tanpa diduga dan tidak di minta mangsa atau keluarga !

For this reminder, Sin Woon was painted as uncouth , disrespectful and “ought to resign”. If we were to follow the above reasonings and justifications, Lim Guan Eng would have had to resign many times before Sin Woon.

MCA calls upon all to take a step backward from politics and to respect the victims and families of the Penang floods as exemplified by both our Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak  and President of MCA Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai who have mobilised all party and government facilities and machineries.

This is also a timely and humble reminder to DAP and Lim Guan Eng that they should not have politicised the missing MH370, the floods in Kelantan and Pahang, etc purely to score political points to hit at the Barisan Government or MCA.
