Lim Guan Eng should stop being conceited & “Aloof” for you have “goofed”!

MCA “Proof” goes “Poof” says Lim Guan Eng (LGE) in a desperate attempt to cover the many “goofs” committed by the DAP’s Penang state government under his leadership. Instead of answering specific questions, he had resorted to name calling and is “obscenely uncouth” as a leader.

As a Chief Minister and a lawmaker, LGE should respect the due process and the rule of the law of which he and his DAP comrades have often sworn to uphold.

Any layman will know that the DAP government has “goofed” in the conduct and management of the proposed under sea tunnel from the over payment of the consultancy fees to the involvement of a fashion company and numerous contradictory statements and goofs by LGE and the DAP state government.

For a start, the Board of Engineers Malaysia had revealed that the maximum fees payable is only RM41 million , as opposed to the RM177.5 million paid by the Penang state government as exposed by Minister in the Prime Minister Department Dato’ Seri Rahman Dahlan a couple of months ago.

LGE’s latest attempt to escape his goof on the involvement of CRCC as a shareholder or contractor and several other distortions or exaggerations is by challenging Minister in the Prime Minister Department Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong “to explain where the corruption was in the entire tunnel and the related project of three main roads.”

LGE further asked Ka Siong to “show proof that there were kickbacks amounting to millions of ringgit paid to the Penang government leaders as alleged.”

Obviously LGE is trying to escape any responsibility, liability or culpability by asking for a trial by media ie to be “prosecuted” by Ka Siong who is merely discharging his public duty as an elected Member of Parliament and a Minister to raise issues of public concern. Any prosecution will come in time after a thorough investigation by MACC. Lim should not be in a hurry to come to the defence of any wrongdoers or wrongdoings.

LGE as a lawmaker should respect the due process and the rule of law. He should respect the fact that the MACC is investigating the DAP’s perceived misconduct and abuse of powers. Any proof of “corruption” or abused of powers will have to be done in a court of law with strict requirements of proof beyond reasonable doubt.

Thus there is no necessity for Lim to attempt to clear or be cleared of any wrongdoings by public opinion by asking for a public trial by media. Ka Siong is not a trained lawyer or a prosecutor having the benefit of a full and thorough investigations by legal professionals. However this does not mean that Ka Siong cannot raise public concerns or asking Lim or the DAP state government to clarify or provide answers within the public domain.

MCA would like to call upon LGE to stop being goofy or “playing victim” by claiming that MCA and BN are sabotaging the proposed undersea tunnel project.

It is obvious that LGE is trying to escape culpability by seeking a trial by media. He is drumming up public opinion by accusing or implying that MCA or BN is trying to stop the undersea tunnel project and has no  “alternative plan to alleviate traffic congestion in Penang?".

LGE is also mischievous in attempting to pit the people against the law enforcement agency MACC which has yet to complete their investigation. He should stop seeking invincibility by “playing victim” or claiming political persecution. Let the due process and the rule of law to prevail. If there’s misconduct or “corruption” by the DAP Penang government, then it is the people who are the real victims.

MCA calls upon LGE to cooperate with the MACC by providing the necessary information and papers with honesty and transparency without any fear if there is no guilt.
