KAMPAR: MCA is committed to upgrading Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) to become one of the best universities in the region.
MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pic) said UTAR is ranked as the second best university in the country, just behind Universiti Malaya and 14th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2017 for millennial universities.
"Along with Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC), UTAR provides quality education and it has achieved numerous successes.
"Together, these two universities have produced about 210,000 graduates," he said during MCA's "Stronger Together" roadshow at SJKC Thung Hon in Tanjung Tualang on Saturday.
"We will continue to ensure that UTAR and TAR UC be improved further to be among the best in Asia," he said.
Liow, who is also Transport Minister, added that UTAR was currently working closely with many foreign universities to provide better education to its students.
"These include Beijing University and Tsinghua University in China," he said.
