Eligible non-Islamic organisations urged to apply for National Unity Ministry’s RM50mil allocation

Non-Islamic religious organisations which are registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS), Ministry of National Unity (PERPADUAN), and hold a bank account linked to the respective body’s management, are urged to seize the opportunity to apply for funding from the RM50million allocation set by PERPADUAN.

Non-Islamic organisations may apply for funding for three purposes. They are: repairs, maintenance and emergencies. The projects include civil works not exceeding RM100,000, electrical wiring works capped at RM 50,000, and mechanical works that do not exceed RM50,000.

PERPADUAN will also assess all applications for funding for emergency purposes or natural disasters.

Related non-Islamic organisations may browse PERPADUAN’s website for further details, or approach MCA for assistance.

The application conditions also require the Project Proposal Works Paper and Project Specification Paper be attached. The description, purpose and costs of the said project, safety and comfort of the project site, the target group (if any), and an evaluation of how the project will promote national unity and others are among the details which must be included.

Minister of National Unity Datuk Halimah binti Mohamed Sadique personally conveyed the news to MCA President Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee Ka Siong. MCA Ethnic Relations and Religious Affairs Bureau and the State Liaison Committees have also been instructed to coordinate and provide the necessary assistance to any non-Islamic organisation keen to apply.

The application form is available at PERPADUAN’s official website (www.perpaduan.gov.my). The direct link is: https://www.perpaduan.gov.my/admin/files/perpaduan/pdf/Program%20Bantuan%20Kewangan%20Rumah%20Ibadat%20Antara%20Islam.pdf
