Heritage Walk Photography Session-Reminisce on the KL’s nostalgic landmarks

11 August, MCA HQ-In conjunction with Merdeka celebrations throughout the month of August 2017, MCA with the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Photographic Society are pleased to organise a Heritage Walk Photography Session to explore the old streets of Kuala Lumpur and the history behind them.

The photography session will be held on 19th August (Saturday), 9am to 12pm, where the participants will meet at Pasar Seni before they embark on a photography journey along the capital’s old streets. It is open to the first 100 participants who will walk along some of the historical buildings including Sin Sze Si Ya Temple and old shophouses with the guidance of tour guides, according to Malaysian Chinese Culture and Arts Consultative Council Chairman Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.

‘‘The entry fee is RM15 per participant, where each one will get a T-shirt, bottled water and 2 print-outs of the photos captured. One will be given to the organiser Fujifilm Malaysia, while another is for self-keeping,” added Mei Fun on the registration of the photography session.

‘‘I would like to congratulate Mr ML Khong, who is a seasoned photographer known to capture life in all its facets on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, to exhibit his beautiful photographic works at Wisma MCA here. This photography session will again lead the die-hard fans of photography to understand the contributions of our forefathers in building the nation, especially for the Chinese descendants whose ancestors have taken root in Malaysia, starting from its capital Kuala Lumpur.’’ Mei Fun lauded those present for their contributions to the arts and photography in Malaysia.

The photography session is co-organised by MCA, in collaboration with Malaysian Women Tourist Guide Association, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Photographic Society, with Fujifilm Malaysia being the main sponsor.
