Statement by MCA President Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai on Oct 16 2016

KUALA LUMPUR: The MCA has condemned the actions of individuals who harassed and intimidated reporters covering the Bersih 5 convoy.
MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said such intimidating behavior was unacceptable.
"Those involved should stop giving silly excuses because Malaysians are not stupid.
"The video that has gone viral is clear as they were threatening the reporters," he said in a statement.
Liow commended the reporters from The Star for showing restraint despite being provoked.
He also praised the police for their quick action in arresting those involved.
Liow said violence was not part of Malaysian culture.
He called for a stop to the culture of political protests.
