KUALA LUMPUR: He told everyone that he is a “Saudi Arabian prince” who came to Malaysia to invest in businesses involving oil and gas, shipping, automobile and healthcare.

The name he used on his business card was H.R.H. Prince Sheikh Prof Dr Al Mansour, with a position of President/Chairman/CEO/Managing Director of AMRIG International Group.

But his local employees called his bluff as they didn’t receive any salary since April.

The staffers complained to MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong at Wisma MCA yesterday claiming he was actually a refugee from Iraq who had conned them of tens of thousands after he promised them high salaries.

Chong said the staff were also manipulated by him to trick potential investors and big companies.

“His United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) identity card has the name of Mansour bin Sheikh Rashid Al-Mansour,” he said while commending the victims for tracing the con artist’s background.

“Although they were cheated they did not give up. They finally found out that he has a refugee identification card from UNHCR.

“We have to alert the public that this fellow is not a prince,” he said.

Victim Wong Hui Shin, 39, said the conman employed a total of 18 people and all were unpaid until now.

“They are regional managers, drivers and administration staff, with some working for him since April,” said Wong.

Wong, who was his Personal Assistant, Administrator and IT Manager, said she joined the company because there was a lot of exposure.

Chong said that the victims are not concerned anymore about getting their salary.

“They just want to alert the public so nobody gets cheated anymore,” Chong said.
