Go Care Charity Photography Contest is an activity initiated by CRSM Go Care, in collaboration with the Persatuan Photography WP Selangor. Themed “Loving, Caring, Sharing Malaysia,” the contest aims to create an awareness for charity within the community to care more in our society. The main objective of this activity is to show the love in our society and fund raising for underprivileged groups and organisations through capturing meaningful photos. Our society consists of the natural environment, human beings and animals. Therefore, the main beneficiaries of this event are the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) and PAWS Animal Welfare Society. The targeted fundraising for this charity contest is RM15, 000.00.

Malaysian Nature Society (MNS)

The genesis of our society predates our country’s independence – a group of British expatriates deeply interested in our country’s lush natural heritage decided that the abundant collection of field notes and natural history records which they had accumulated was vital to the country’s heritage and should be published. In 1940, with the publication of the Malayan Nature Journal Volume 1, the Malaysian Nature Society was born. Evolving from a core group of society volunteers, MNS’ Kuala Lumpur-based headquarters has now a team of 40 dedicated full time staff who see to the day-to-day running of the Society’s administration and activities. They have pioneered conservation in Malaysia for the last seven decades, making a difference through habitat conservation and environmental education. Through the joint efforts of our members, partners and supporters, MNS has become a strong voice for the protection of our country’s natural heritage. We will continue presenting our stand by promoting and ensuring responsible environmental stewardship in this country.

National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM)

The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) is a society formed in 1987 by a group of parents and professionals with the aim to deliver lifespan services to the community of persons suffering from autism. It was registered on 3rd March 1987 as a national charitable organisation and it strives to provide a range of support services to assist people living with autism, especially children and their immediate family members.

PAWS (PAWS Animal Welfare Society)

PAWS (PAWS Animal Welfare Society) is a non-profit animal shelter in Petaling Jaya that has been in operation since 1987. It receives the surrender of unwanted dogs and cats which it will vaccinate, deworm, neuter/spay, and put up for adoption. Currently, there are over 250 dogs and 250 cats under the care of the shelter. The shelter and all costs involved in running it are entirely funded by the generous donations of the public as well as proceeds from charitable events. The PAWS team consists of three office staff, a number of part-time veterinarians, one vet assistant and seven kennel workers. PAWS is a registered Society under the Registry of Societies of Malaysia that is led by an elected committee.
