Court decision on Dr Ting Tiong Choon’s seat upholds Malaysia’s judicial independence, but he cannot escape his political & moral responsibility

Although DAP Pujut Assemblyman Dr Ting Tiong Choon has been reinstated in his position, he still cannot escape from his political and moral responsibility.

Whenever there were court rulings which were not in favour of DAP, the party will accuse our judiciary of being unfair and of taking BN’s side. But when the court rules in favour of DAP, the party will say this is a victory of democracy, and continue to lambast the governing party. This is yet another typical case of double standards practised by DAP.

I would like to remind DAP, not to be proud of this win in suit. Dr Ting Tiong Choon won because of the error in jurisdiction technicality of the Sarawak state Assembly Speaker. But this does not clear him of integrity issues and political moral responsibility by intentionally hiding the fact of allegedly possessing dual citizenship when he contested for the seat.

As always ,we BN respect the judgment of the court, but this does not mean that DAP and Dr Ting Tiong Choon could criticise the ruling government of abusing its powers. It is a well known fact that his victory was merely due to technicality. In fact, he should apologise to voters for his misconduct in covering up the fact of allegedly possessing dual citizenship.

Beside that, Ting vowing to teach BN a lesson is amusing, as he should be the one who  learns a lesson from this incident , that the truth cannot be hidden forever and never cheat your voters.
