Suspected CBT, Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker should be investigated

We are concerned with the incident in which the Deputy Prime Minister’s name had been allegedly misused at the launch of a project, and which had resulted in a stern warning being issued by her office.

If such an allegation is true, with his suspected involvement in impersonation, criminal breach of trust and power abuse, the Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon’s must be immediately suspended and investigated, so as to safeguard the sacredness of our nation’s highest legislative institution.  

A text purportedly came from DPM Dato’ Sri Wan Azizah was shockingly read out on her behalf by none other than the very person who is in-charge of our highest legislative institution- the Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker himself! Such gravely serious incident of criminal breach of trust must be investigated by the government with utmost priority.  

According to the report, the DPM’s Press Secretary only informed the media on the eve of the activity proper of her inability to attend. It is puzzling as to why the message was not conveyed to the organiser but to the media instead? Was it that the DPM never promised to attend, but the organiser had lied to the media that she would be present? Or, did her last minute absence catch the organiser off balance in which he had to resort to drafting its own speech and get the Deputy Speaker to read out on her behalf as a cover-up? And what source of authority has Rashid to read out the DPM’s speech without her endorsement, and even announced the government’s comprehensive co-ordination with Enhanced Malaysia International Internet Gateway (EM-IIG).

If the DPM’s Office’s clarification is anything to go by, then it must lodge a report for the police to investigate EM-IIG which has issued statements allegedly on behalf of the DPM but without her approval in reality, and the Deputy Speaker who read out the statement for the DPM without her approval, thereby had involved himself in impersonation, misuse of power and criminal breach of trust.
