MOH should resolve 3 issues to ensure smoother transition back to workplaces

With 80% of Malaysians fully vaccinated, the nation can move forward and explore more options in accordance with the National Recovery Plan. Lockdowns cannot last indefinitely, hence it is our shared responsibility to advance responsibly to the endemic phase.

However, with the economy reopening and the public returning to their respective workplaces, the responsibility of fighting Covid-19 will depend on the corporate and individual will. In other words, everyone will have to be even more SOP-conscious compared to the previous phases of lockdowns.

Thus, after gathering feedback from the public, we urge the Ministry of Health to consider implementing the following suggestions for a smoother transition back to work:

1. Update and inform the location of new vaccination appointments: People have complained that following the closures of some vaccination dispensation centres (PPVs) in Klang Valley, the location for the second appointment have not been updated, leading to confusion as to where to go to complete their second vaccination jab. Hence, MOH must address this discrepancy by updating the system and assigning staffs to contact these users.

2. Addressing vaccination certificate issues: The public have also reported that 14 days after the second vaccine dose, the MySejahtera application did not show the digital vaccination certificate as intended. The Helpdesk function could not resolve the issue as well, barring them from returning to work.

3. Improve Helpdesk functions: The utility value of the MySejahtera Helpdesk is largely underwhelming and cannot provide timely solutions to the people’s woes. The MySejahtera team should consider gathering feedback from the public to improve the application.
