Forum: Implications of Hadi Awang’s RUU 355

RUU 355 or Syariah Court (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355) in full.

What is it? Why so many politically divisive debates against the proposed amendments to RUU 355”

“It doesn’t affect non-Muslims. Why fear?”

“Not imposing hudud law on non-Muslims but merely enhancing the punishments for Muslim offenders”

“Non-Muslims interfering into our faith”

Why should Malaysians take heed of this crucial parliamentary Private Member’s Bill tabled by PAS when there are other pressing matters to address? Will this Bill really affect all of us? What can we do to prevent the passing of this Bill?

In light of the above comments, questions, concerns and many more, MCA Religious Harmony Bureau will be hosting a forum entitled “Implications of Hadi Awang’s RUU 355”. Details as follows:

Date:  Friday, 10 March 2017
