A truly enchanting Opening Extravaganza which delivers diversity

The “BAFM 2017 Negaraku Gala Opening Night”  on 1 August 2017, will be bringing together performing artistes from East and West Malaysia, as well as abroad, thereby showcasing diversified cultural performances of dance, voice, percussion, harmonica and others. Be it the performance contents, equipment, stage lighting or costumes, the Gala Opening Night will surely be a feast for the eyes and soul-rocking, one that should never be missed.

As for this international rendition, “Brilliance of Blossom 1-A Performing Extravaganza from Malaysia, China and India” on13 August 2017 will be gathering a team of world-class performing artistes to perform together, with performances ranging from classical dance from India, to local performances with a unique Malaysian flavour.

On 20 August 2017, the “Brilliance of BAFM 2-Mega Performances from 5 Asian Countries” will feature joint presentations by dance troupes showcasing members’ own national cultural performance, including an Indonesian harvest festival dance, a Thai Chinatown cultural dance and others.

In conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Malaysia-Japan diplomatic relations, arrangements have been made for an orchestra from Japan to specially present popular Japanese country songs and contemporary musicals, in celebration of the 60 years of friendship between Malaysia and Japan.

Meanwhile, it is also worth mentioning that audience will be treated to the very first stage art performance to feature the interaction between wushu exponents with slide images in Malaysia, by HYJ Wushu Academy (Malaysia). This wushu-multimedia presentation is simply amazing and will certainly keep the audience screaming for more.

Malaysia-Taiwan Dance Competition

This year’s BAFM has also added some new elements. Besides inviting culture and arts groups from East Malaysia to perform, BAFM has also invited HRC B-Boy dance troupe from Taiwan and local dance company Music Talk Studio to jointly present an “Unleashing Youthfulness in Twirls”, Malaysia-Taiwan Street Dance Competition on 4 and 5 August 2017. On the night of 4 August 2017, there will be a Malaysia-Taiwan Dance Spectacular jointly presented by Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Shing An Association Youth Division Dance Section, a frequent award winner and National Taiwan University of Arts.
