In a collaboration to raise funds to purchase medical equipment for pregnant patients and newborn babies with Covid-19, the Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM), Wanita MCA and GoCare hope this effort will reduce the risk of cross-infection in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Fundraising Medical Equipment for pregnant women and newborns with COVID-19 Campaign Chairperson, Tee Hooi Ling stated, “due to the presence of COVID-19 among pregnant women, their babies must be admitted to the NICU for quarantine until they are discharged from the hospital.

Datuk Natalie Lim Chong Ly, National Chief of CRSM informed, “in addition to raising funds to purchase medical equipment for pregnant women and newborns, GoCare raised a total of RM50,000 in medical supplies for the COVID-19 hospitals located in the Klang Valley to relieve pressure off COVID-19 Hospitals; These materials include large oxygen tank carts, PPE's, medical masks, face masks, whiteboards, wall clocks, blood glucose measuring machines, disinfection spray guns, medical thermometers, large tents, etc.

Wanita MCA chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie, highlighted that CRSM and GoCare delivered medical equipment to Selayang Hospital. A total of RM11,000.00 has been raised through the GoCare crowdfunding platform. Today's medical equipment includes baby scales, electronic scales, Powered Air Purifying Respirator with Hood, baby milk warmer, 40L hot water boiler, Cassa Relief Hydraulis Chair, nursing desk, and other items which have since been distributed to frontline staff, as well as 300 packs of love lunch boxes.

Since May 2021, the CRSM has assisted more than 20 hospitals raise funds and has distributed more than 3,000 love lunch boxes to frontline personnel.

Thank you is expressed to AST Chemical for donating disinfection guns, disinfectants, electronic scales, and other equipment; KL Photography Association for donating waterproof digital cameras and amplifiers; Nano Medic for donating blood glucose measuring devices and test handles; and VTAR Institute for donating oxygen tanks trolley, TC and TC sponsored Turkish Chocolate, SCK KITCHEN, and SCK Vegetarian Restaurant.

CRSM and GoCare will continue to raise funds for public hospitals in the Klang Valley and will also expand fundraising activities to other states where the pandemic situation is worsening such as Penang and Johor.
