Not even an inch of forest reserve touched? Guan Eng’s arrogant remarks downgraded Ambiga too

The claim by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s that ‘Only Penang did not touch a single square inch of forest reserve over the last decade’ is one of the biggest boastfulness ever uttered by him.

While Lim Guan Eng is full of boastful talk, the people have noticed ‘Botak’ hills growing everywhere. These ‘balding hills’ can even be sighted from the Komtar building where Lim Guan Eng’s office is located. Is Lim Guan Eng blind or does he think that Penangites are blind?

Lim Guan Eng claimed that the Penang state government under Pakatan has never touched the forest reserve, with an emphasis on the word ‘forest reserve’. This shows that he is simply playing word games, in attempts to cover up the fact that environment destruction is befalling under the Pakatan state government.

In fact the Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan-led HAKAM organisation has lambasted Lim Guan Eng in a public forum on the ‘botak hill phenomenon’, saying that he has violated the state constitution. At that time, Lim Guan Eng informed that these developments were approved by the former ruling state government, and had nothing to do with DAP’s administration.

Lim Guan Eng even claimed that Ambiga and NGOs related to her have fallen for the ‘false news traps’ set by the BN and anti-opposition media. Is Lim Guan Eng implying that, Ambiga and BN are conspiring to attack him and the DAP-led Penang state government?

Fortunately the NGOs are quick to catch his lies through various official information available. These developments were actually approved by the Penang state government between the years 2008 and 2015. To top it all, the Penang state government has approved a 55-storey construction projects on the hillside! This delivers a big slap on the face of Lim Guan Eng and DAP.

This is Lim Guan Eng’s typical style of playing rogue, using rhetoric to boast about himself. When there is a problem, he will shirk off responsibility and blame others. Those he blamed are either former ruling state administration or the federal government. Or, the public may call it political prosecution, and not even the NGOs are spared from this.
