Overwhelming response for BAFM with 5 attractions: Culture & arts groups urged to register early - Chew Mei Fun 

Kuala Lumpur, 3 Nov -  Are you talented but still awaiting an opportunity or a platform to unleash your creativity? Well, wait no more!

The month-long Blossom Arts Festival Malaysia (BAFM) 2017 is now open for registration. Individuals or groups interested to take part in exhibitions or performances are urged to register early before the closing date of 15 November 2016 so that you do not miss out on this mega festival.

BAFM Chairman Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun revealed that, within a month since the organising committee announced the registration for interested individuals or groups are now open, it has received many applications and enquiries from culture and arts groups keen to participate.

“Based on the records from the Secretariat, if all the applications met our criteria and were to be approved, the quota for the performing arts is almost full, as it takes time for the organising committee to co-ordinate the programmes. As such, I urged groups which have yet to submit their application to do so before the due date.”  

She pointed out, “BAFM2017 will focus on 5 main categories where an Arts Bazaar would be added in, apart from the existing culture and Arts Performance, Arts Exhibitions, Culture and Arts Activities, and Visual Arts. The participating groups may apply according to each category.”

A point to note is, the Malaysian Chinese Culture and Arts Consultative Committee, with sponsorship from MCA, provides a platform for shortlisted applicants to promote and develop the diversified culture and arts of the Malaysian Chinese and all ethnicities, whilst helping such groups’ growth along the way. All revenue raised will be channelled back to the relevant participating non-profit culture and arts organisations and associations.
