Wisma MCA resumes operation following CNY break with Kai Gong Ceremony

On the fifth day of Chinese New Year (Chor 5) today, MCA hosted a “Kai Gong” ceremony in Wisma MCA. Traditionally, “kai gong” means to “start work”, commemorating the first day of work after the Chinese New Year break.

The ceremony today was officiated by MCA President, Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong, together with other top MCA leaders including party Secretary-General, Datuk Chong Sin Woon; National Youth Chief, Datuk Nicole Wong; and Chief Administrative Director, Datuk Lim Chin Hai.

For some businesses, Kai Gong is an important ceremony which marks the start of a new year, and establishing a new resolution to achieve greater successes. Everything needs to be meticulously planned, and even the date of Kai Gong is specifically chosen in order bring good fortunes for the company and its staffs.

Last year, we all witnessed the formation of a unity government for the first time in Malaysia’s 65-year history.

Today, MCA hosted the Kai Gong ceremony as part of the government, but with no Cabinet positions.

However, as we have done from the very beginning, MCA will continue to advocate for stability, prosperity, democracy, and unity to ensure fairness in development of our beloved Malaysia.
