The Honourable Consul-General of Japan in Penang, Malaysia.

Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) Youth Penang wishes to refer the Honourable Consul-General to the erection of a warriors' monument in Alor Setar, Kedah which depicts the three dead Japanese soldiers as "war heroes". MCA Youth Penang utterly disagrees and strongly protests against the usage of "war heroes" contained in the said monument.

MCA Youth Penang earnestly hopes that the Honourable Consul-General will seriously look into this matter as history has clearly recorded the atrocities of the Japanese soldiers during the invasion and occupation of Malaysia (Malaya then) from 1941 till 1945 in World War II causing immense hardship and tremendous sufferings to our nationals. MCA Youth Penang deems this as a great insult to the victims of the Japanese Occupation and their families and requests the consulate to extend apologies to the victims' families. Thank you.
