Press statement by MCA Publicity Spokesman cum Religious Harmony Bureau Chairman Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker

Has DAP now endorsed that it is okay to call someone to ‘‘Balik Tongsan’’?

The DAP’s absolute silence on Tun M’s taunting stating that PM Najib Razak could have originated from the pirates from Bugis and should return back to Bugis is baffling and astounding.

In the past Lim Kit Siang and his army of Red Bean cyber troopers will be quick to jump on any racist taunts or perceived racist statements particularly from any individuals associated or identifiable to BN - no matter how remote that link is.

Is there another U-turn on DAP’s policy or stand against racism due to Tun M’s influences? Since Tun M has asked the Bugis to return to Bugis, is DAP now acceptable or tolerant towards racist statements asking the Chinese to “Balik Tongsan”.

It is not that I am picking on Lim Kit Siang or Lim Guan Eng but at a time whereby both father and sons have been most critical as vocal against MCA for not stopping racist statements and taunts, it is indeed surprising to note that they have been absolutely silent and oblivious to Tun M’s racist taunts.

Isn’t it obvious where these racist statements and taunts came or originated from? From the days of Tun M’s ultra-views enunciated in his book “The Malay Dilemma” and after Tunku Abdul Rahman’s downfall, Tun M has been the main proponent and force behind the “ultra” Malay movement.

Tun M racist taunts have incurred the displeasure of His Majesty The Sultan of Johor , angered The Sultan of Selangor and even the Vice President of Indonesia Idris Kalla have deem it diplomatically fit to state their protest.

No political leader should ever ask any Malaysian to "Balik" to their place of ethnic origin. This is a fundamental principle that DAP has now abandoned.

Or has DAP endorsed such hate speech as allowable in Malaysia?

Compounded with DAP's silence when PERKASA recently threatened to declare war if the government recognizes the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), this proves that DAP has become a party who has sold-out their principles.

The question now is why is the double standard or hypocrisy? Why is DAP’s Lim Kit Siang , Lim Guan Eng, Teresa Kok, Hannah Yeoh etc keeping completely quiet when they will always be among the first to jump on any utterance of a racist nature - particularly against the Chinese.

Is this another U-turn by DAP or have they softened their stand against racism now that the likes of Tun Mahathir and PERKASA (of which he was PATRON to) are seen to be on the same page?
