Virtual Recruitment Day organised by Go Care to help job seekers

Many things, including recruitments and job hunts, are now being conducted online under the new normal of the pandemic, according to Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Dato‘ Sri Dr Wee Jeck Seng.

He noted that the unemployment rate was 4.8 percent in the second quarter of 2021, implying that 764,900 individuals were unemployed.

“The promotion of Virtual Recruitment Day will aid groups that are unemployed or need to supplement their income in finding work or increasing their revenue. Simultaneously, they will aid organisations looking to acquire talents in a variety of industries in finding qualified individuals.”

Today, he participated in the "Hunt Zone" series' Virtual Recruitment Day, which was co-hosted by the MCA Economic Bureau, MCA Youth, MCA Wanita, Social Development Committee, and CRSM GoCare in collaboration with LA Branding and KOJADI.

He mentioned that in March this year, the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities and the Ministry of Human Resources collaborated in an online job fair. More than 8,700 jobs were created by six plantation enterprises. There were 753 people who registered, 268 people who applied, and 76 people who were selected.

He stressed that GoCare's online recruitment platform can assist not just people in need to find jobs, but also companies to locate talent on the site, resulting in a win-win situation.

The goal of the Virtual Recruitment Day is to increase career prospects for the general public while also finding talents for businesses. In addition to career matching and online interviews, KOJADI will provide education loan explanations and make arrangements for businesses and education institutions to provide on-the-job training instructions, giving registrants more options.

Hunt Zone's series of events are expected to aid businesses and the general public in all facets of the pandemic. As a result, more companies are encouraged to engage in the activities. At the same time, more people and companies are being urged to become involved for the greater benefit to make a contribution to society.
