Press statement by MCA Publicity Bureau Chairman Senator Dato’ Chai Kim Sen

No “Malaysian Malaysia” from DAP but racial preferential treatment of PPBM

Should Pakatan Harapan ever capture federal office, the racially divide-and-rule practice by DAP and now combined with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad will be reproduced. The “Malaysian Malaysia” concept shouted by DAP against Dr Mahathir a long time ago is as good as dead, thereby delivering a public humiliation against DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang who has been referred to as a “box office poison.”

Dr Mahathir has repeatedly assured the masses that once Pakatan Harapan comes into power, the Opposition pact will continue to protect the rights of the Malays. His reassurance to the Malay community proves that within Pakatan Harapan, PPBM despite having only one MP in the Dewan Rakyat, wields the largest influence, while DAP which holds the highest number of parliamentary seats among the Opposition, can only remain silent.

It can be said that since the past, DAP is aware that it would always be denied any say in administration. This proves that DAP is aware that it is unable to cooperate. Hence, the Opposition parties’ criticisms against Dr Mahathir’s assertions in the past were purely political.

Supporters used to be deceived by DAP’s slogan of “Malaysian Malaysia”. But it is obvious that DAP itself does not even believe nor follow its own political slogans.

DAP support for Dr Mahathir’s racial preferential practices are evidenced in Penang. After seizing power in Penang in 2008, in just eight years, the Penang Chief Minister spent RM4.5 million on Islamic affairs on the island state, but allocated a mere RM7.7million to be shared among other religions. 20 religious schools in Penang received RM8million in just 8 years, more than 90% of government projects were awarded to Bumiputera contractors and others. When compared to Dr Mahathir’s era, Penang now under DAP has allocated more towards the Bumiputera community

It is ridiculous that despite DAP abandoning Chinese voters whereby in their push to appeal to Malay votes, DAP allocated more resources towards the Bumiputeras, yet the Rocket is still regarded as" box office poisons" by Tun Dr Mahathir and other Pakatan HArapan leaders. On the surface, there appears to be cooperation with DAP, but on the other hand, DAP is kept out of the loop.

Depending on the audience, DAP which used to shout that it “dares to speak out” would preach about “moderation” in front of the Chinese and non-Muslim communities. In reality, Lim Kit Siang also grovels before PPBM, claiming that it is a political party for all Malaysians.
