Wanita MCA respects the verdict of people, will continue to be the voice of people on the opposing side

Wanita MCA national Chairperson Datuk Heng Seai Kie expressed her deep regrets over MCA’s inability to win the people’s mandate in the 14th general election. She also vowed to respect the verdict and choice of people, reorienting themselves, so as to continue to play the role of an opposition party representing the people’s voices.    

She is satisfied with the implementation of a two-party system and a smooth transition of power, and congratulated the formation of the Pakatan’s cabinet line-up. ‘‘We wish Pakatan Harapan well, and hope they will do better and build a better future for the people and country.’’

‘‘As the Chairperson of the Wanita wing, I take full responsibility to lead the wing to self-repent and self-review, so as to make reforms and consolidate plans for the next 10 years.’’

She pointed out that, Wanita MCA will take into account the current opposition role of MCA, adjusting its strategy, play a role in monitoring the government’s administration and governance, reviewing all policies of the newly minted federal government, providing timely and constructive comments and suggestions, coordinating with the current federal government in building a better Malaysia.

She hopes that the Pakatan federal government will not disappoint the people’s mandate, and focus on promoting reforms, as well as implement Pakatan’s election Manifesto and promises, ditch the old habits of blaming the predecessor government. “Strive to correct unfair policies and focus on developing the country, and not abuse powers to carry out personal revenge and suppress political opponents.”
