Press Statement by MCA Publicity Bureau Deputy Chairman Lau Chin Kok

The overspill of conflicts in Pakatan rendering its leaders a group of mob

Not long after PPBM decided to join Pakatan Harapan, their conflicts started to build over various issues. This implies that they are merely a group of mob who are getting together for short-term political gains!

If both parties have no consensus in fighting for the interests of the people, they will end up disagreeing with each other, as they only assess problems from the perspective of keeping their own personal interests.

When both parties aim at maximising self-interest, there will be no consensus. If they prioritise themselves before others, where would the rakyat fall in the rank?

Taking the GST issue as an example, all PH member parties held different views and even for those from the same party. This makes one wonder if PH really understand GST.

They first talked about abolishing GST, then said they will keep the GST but make it zero-rated. Such contradicting statement is confusing the people.

If this group of mob helms the federal government, and is indecisive over national policies, how will they lead the country to success?

In fact the PH leaders are acting like a child before Tun Mahathir, and will follow his instructions blindly without much questioning.

This is despite Azmin once said that Tun Mahathir should adhere to the coalition’s reform agenda if he wants to join it, and he will not be welcomed if he brings his personal agenda to the coalition.

Azmin dare not refute Tun Mahathir’s remarks when he is around and will always behave differently behind him.

The same goes for the Pakatan’s choice of Prime Minister, while DAP claimed that everyone can be a Prime Minister, including PKR chief Dr Wan Azizah, its suggestion is akin to slapping Tun Mahathir on the face, as both have conflicting interests over the matter.
