What apology? Taiwan TV commentator’s mockery of Malaysia hits below the belt

Taiwan TV current affairs commentator Li Zheng Hao deserves criticism for distorting facts, quoting unverified information and even fabricating inaccuracies on the show regarding Malaysia's fight against the Covid-19 contagion. His attempt at influencing the viewers' impression of Malaysia with a sweeping generalisation hits below the belt.

Equally unfortunate, although Li later posted an apology on Facebook, all he did was an attempt to justify his mistakes and errors.

Malaysians are united in this fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. Armed forces and police personnel standing at the frontlines are risking their lives to perform their missions. Still, Li Zheng Hao deliberately took a segment of the operations out of context to stigmatise and criticise the Malaysian security forces.

Even worse, but he also humiliated Malaysian medical staff who are labouring with hardly any rest at the frontlines, and considered the practice inhumane.

Every person is united in standing on the frontlines to contain the COVID-19 epidemic. From the men in green and blue to medical care staff, even food delivery staff, media corp, or hospital cleaners - they are all heroes in the eyes Malaysians; They have our strong support without hesitation.

This person has only a half-baked understanding of Malaysia, and sees Malaysia like how a frog inside a shell sees the world; Claiming to be an expert in analysing the situation in Malaysia, not only has he insulted Malaysians, he is also fooling his Taiwanese audiences.

In the Taiwanese Dongsen TV's current-affairs programme "Critical Moments" episode on 24 March 2020, which invited Taiwanese current-affairs commentator Li Zheng Hao, to explain and analyse the COVID-19 epidemic in Southeast Asia, he cited fake news which depicted Malaysia's authorities in a negative light.

The TV commentator has minimal knowledge on the multitude of religions we have here, and may even know nothing about it. His shallow understanding of Islamic funeral rites being based on just photos alone only shows the low-level ignorance of this person.
