Press statement by MCA Publicity Spokesman (English/Bahasa Malaysia) cum Religious Harmony Bureau Chairman Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker

Kit Siang should apologise now that Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai is vindicated

1)       I refer to Lim Kit Siang’s blog post (https://blog.limkitsiang.com/2017/09/21/liow-tiong-lai-should-publicly-apologise-for-being-caught-red-handed-a-second-time-for-telling-a-lie-this-time-about-securityterrorist-threat-resulting-in-the-city-hall-ban-on-better-beer-f/) that demanded MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai to publicly apologise for being caught red-handed a second time for telling a lie, about security/terrorist threat resulting in the City Hall ban on Better Beer Festival next month, as Bukit Aman counter terrorism division chief, Datuk Ayub Khan Mydin Pitchay denied there was any security or terrorist threat.

2)       Lim Kit Siang must have been desperate or his mind must be failing him as the statement he should have been talking about was that of Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun’s. Our IGP revealed that the police had received information on militants planning on sabotaging the event, that was scheduled to be held early next month, therefore why the police advised against the festival.

3)       Lim Kit Siang who is well known for  not serving his constituents since his full time job is writing and twisting facts of a situation or any situation suitable to him. This time he chose a report that came out from Ayub who is junior and picked from a text message reply to a reporter even after the  IGP’s statement was published. Lim Kit Siang as a Veteran politician do not know which report carries weight or is more authoritative?

4)       Lim Kit Siang as a season politician ought to know better instead of continuing to pick on MCA when he himself have been silent and a coward during the Selangor Octoberfest controversy in the past.

5)       The police should probably have a closer look at Kit Siang's provocative statements. Is DAP implying that the police are unreliable or lying? Is DAP implying that the police are incompetent and unreliable since there are conflicting statements? One from a simple Sms in reply to a reporter's query and another an official press statement from the IGP himself.

6) Perhaps the best person to set the record right is Lim Kit Siang himself . He should have been more patient and not jump the gun or apologise/amend when the IGP's statement was out.

7)       Lim Kit Siang and DAP should be more prudent and careful in their allegations of a cover up or lies especially when this involves national security. The police and the  government do not compromise on the safety and security of Malaysians. Now that MCA President DS Liow Tiong Lai is proven right and vindicated, where is Lim Kit Siang's apology ?

8)       This also goes to show DAP will compromise the safety of Malaysians just to ensure an event goes on in the name of “liberalism” or in pursuit of populism.

9)       This is the type of leaders you want governing the country? These are the leaders that will put the public to risk by supporting beer fest over security concerns? DAP had also chose to give credit to PAS over the cancellation of the event over the police.

10)     It is time Malaysians be wary of these tricks by DAP. In the meantime I call upon Lim Kit Siang to apologise to Liow Tiong Lai now that he's being vindicated.
