BUTTERWORTH: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong will speak about the alleged discrepancies over the Penang undersea tunnel project here on March 30.

The MCA deputy president is scheduled to speak at 7.30pm at the Tan Si Eng Chuan Tong Association Hall in Jalan Kampung Paya, said Penang MCA chief Datuk Tan Teik Cheng.

“There will just be one topic - the tunnel project and all the problems surrounding it.

“Penangites are worried after reading about Dr Wee’s revelations in the news. So we invited Dr Wee to come and speak about the issue,” said Teik Cheng on Friday.

He said other speakers included him and the party’s state organising secretary Dr Tan Chuan Hong.

Teik Cheng added that the talk was an important one for Penangites to understand the matter.

Earlier, Dr Wee challenged Lim Guan Eng to a public debate on the tunnel issue but the Chief Minister declined.

Lim rejected Dr Wee's challenge by stating that he would not downgrade his position as DAP secretary-general to debate with MCA's "number two".
