Bitter PIL to swallow:

Lim Guan Eng & Chow Kon Yeow must explain PRICE HIKES for Penang LRT & PIL projects

Immediate past Chief Minister cum current federal Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and existing CM Chow Kon Yeow must clarify why costs for the Penang LRT and Penang  Island Link (PIL) highway projects have skyrocketed by RM0.6bil and RM2.1bil respectively as news unravel that constructions for these two mega projects are expected to commence in June 2020 as components of the RM46bil Penang Transport Master Plan. Particularly for PIL, the cost for each km has surged by RM107mil.

We are also reminded that the Penang state government prior to GE14 had claimed that the RM8.4bil LRT project is not an increase from the RM7bil previously quoted.

They must also explain measures to overcome the environment CARNAGE in line with the Penang Green Council’s vision of Penang as a Green State, as the Penang LRT project involves MASSIVE land reclamation to build 3 man-made islands (circled in red in infographic).
