Press Statement by MCA Pahang State Liaison Committee Chairman Datuk Hoh Khai Mun

MCA Pahang State has never received RM3mil political fund

DAP is following the footsteps of Sarawak Report in circulating hearsay news, in attempts to divert attention from the opposition’s internal conflicts, and incite the rakyat  to topple the government.

In responding to DAP Bilut State Assemblyman Chow Yu Hui, who claimed that MCA Pahang State Liaison Committee (SLC) has received RM3mil in political funds, I would like to clarify that, the so-called RM3mil political fund has never flowed into the Pahang SLC’s bank account, as shown on the corresponding records. These are all lies fabricated by DAP. Stop intentionally misleading the Chinese community and slandering MCA president Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai.

In reality, the Sarawak Report and New York Wall Street Journal, have become a political tool to attract votes. The opposition which includes the former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad, has been trying very hard to create allegations. When he realised he could not shake off the Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak-led government administration, he decided to expand his attacks to other Barisan Nasional (BN) component party leaders, especially MCA President Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai.

From what we can see, this is ridiculous as the coming general election will unavoidably involve multi-cornered fights. Thus the ruling coalition and the opposition should highlight their election manifestos respectively, rather than creating delusional stories and defamation. In fact, with the general election draws near, the opposition should reveal its shadow cabinet and shadow Prime Minister-designate, and not focus on Sarawak Report or the New York Wall Street Journal.

Ever since Chow Yu Hui was elected the state Assemblyman, his performance is far from satisfactory. The promises he made in the last general election has become empty talks. When he could not perform satisfactorily, Chow Yu Hui and his sidekicks expected uncertainty in the coming election, and they knew they have to come up with some new hostile strategy, or else they will be wiped out soon. But we would like to tell Chow Yu Hui, the people are the boss, they have made their decisions in the past election, and will review it in the coming election. It is democratic to make the same or different decisions. As the current state Assemblyman, he should strive to perform, set some kind of goals, and follow the example set by BN Bentong Member of Parliament (MP) Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, whose commitment towards the development of Bentong is evident for all to see.
