Demolition of the pig abattoir in Kedah reveals PAS true colours

MCA Spokesperson Sdr Lee Wei Kiat strongly lashed out at PAS’ action of demolishing the pig abattoir in Kedah which has reflects that the party misled voters with their slogan “PAS for All” in the General Elections last year, “it was only a ploy to canvass for votes.” He also urged the Chinese community all over the country to stand together with the Chinese in Kedah to strongly protest against the extreme action taken by the PAS-led government in Kedah.

Wei Kiat who is also the MCA Information and Communication Bureau Chairman pointed out “that during every election, PAS will exhort that their party is for all and will look after the interest of all Malaysians regardless of race. However, after having taken over the state administration, PAS disdained the feelings of the Chinese community in Kedah and demolished the sole abattoir for pigs in Kedah. This is an act that betrayed the trust of the people.”    

“MCA urges the Chinese community to stand behind the Chinese in Kedah and firmly say “No” to the PAS government in Kedah. All Malaysians should see clearly the real motives of PAS and they should not tolerate such an act of cheating the people,” he emphasized.

Wei Kiat also criticized the helpless position of DAP being part of the Kedah state government. “As part of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition government, not only has DAP failed to prevent the pig abattoir from being demolished by PAS but they are also acting like the Opposition party in the state by protesting against the act of the PAS government. DAP’s action failed to provide solutions in helping to resolve the existing problem. It also reveals that Pakatan Rakyat component parties do not co-operate nor keep each other informed within the state administration.”

“Kedah DAP’s claim to withdraw from Pakatan Rakyat in Kedah is just a political gimmick serving to create a false impression that they are dissatisfied with what had been done by the state government. In fact, the action by Kedah DAP to pull out from the state government will not produce constructive solutions to the issue. If DAP really wanted to oppose the action taken by PAS, the whole party should withdraw from the Pakatan Rakyat utterly including Penang and Selangor DAP,” Wei Kiat pressed.
