Making a point: Kamaruzaman (left) handing over the memorandum to Shaari
The Federal Territory PAS handed a memorandum to Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ab Hakim Borhan to cancel sexy dangdut singer Inul Daratista's concert at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil on Sunday.
A four-member group headed by FT PAS Youth head Kamaruzaman Mohamad, handed the memorandum to the mayor's special officer Shaari Ahmad Junid yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall headquarters lobby.
The group is calling for the cancellation of the concert, which they term erotic.
“We are disappointed and regret that the DBKL issued a permit for the concert. She is indecent and is not even popular in Indonesia,'' said PAS member Zulkarnain Borhan who was part of the group that came to City Hall.
“What is the relevance in cancelling the show in Johor Baru and having it here,” asked Zulkarnain.
“Inul is an Indonesian star, don't we have our own people who are just as good and able to portray a better image for our youths,” said Zulkarnain.
Inul was scheduled to perform in Johor Baru last Saturday but was unable to do so as the Johor Baru district office had cancelled the permit for the show.
