IPOH: Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) has expressed disappointment with the Pakatan Rakyat state government after none of its nominees was appointed councillors for the Kuala Kangsar Municipality.

The party's Sungai Siput branch secretary, M. Sugumaran said the party had recommended four candidates to be appointed. He also claimed that a month ago, state Education, Local Government, Housing and Public Transport Committee chairman Nga Kor Ming had told the party that since the slots for political parties had been taken up, nominees from PSM would be placed under the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) category.

Sugumaran said Sungai Siput member of Parliament Dr Michael Jeyakumar, who had brought up the issue with Nga, was assured that nominees from PSM would be selected.
