Kind gesture: Dr Mah handing over the cheque for RM10,000 to Harchand

SEVEN non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the state received a much-needed boost when they received aid totalling RM93,000 from the state government.

The cheques were handed over to them by State Non-Muslim Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon.

Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism Perak branch chairman Harchand Singh said it was not the first time that the state had extended financial aid to the NGO.

“Although only RM10,000, the amount means a lot to us.

“It will help us to continue carrying out activities such as hospital visits and to hold multicultural prayers and motivational camps,” he said.

The other NGOs were the Gopeng Kuan Yin Temple, Changkat Kruing New Cemetery, Changkat Kruing New Village beautification committee, Taiping Foo Chow Association, Shen Jai High School and Huadu Association.
