Deputy Foreign Minister Dato’ Lee Chee Leong highlights Malaysian govt’s excellent bilateral relations with Kuwait Government.

Deputy Foreign Minister Dato’ Lee Chee Leong received a courtesy call from the Special Envoy of Kuwait’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Mejren Al-Roumi on 14 December 2009 at the office of the Deputy Foreign Minister.

Dato’ Lee who is an MCA Central Committee member took the opportunity to express that the Malaysian government is pleased with the excellent relations with Kuwait and looks forward to further enhancing cooperation in all fields for mutual benefit.

In his remarks, Dato’ Lee, the Member of Parliament for Kampar also highlighted that the both countries should encourage more exchanges of high level visits and further expand the economic ties, where the total bilateral trade between Malaysia and Kuwait was amounted to RM2.954 billion in 2008. 

Concluding his remarks, Dato Lee expressed that both countries agreed to look into areas such as trade and investment, education, tourism, finance and banking and the Halal industry for long term cooperation.
