Food for thought – Can DAP really protect Chinese rights?

I wonder whether the Chinese community realises this; that the DAP has been saying that in Pakatan Rakyat, everything is in the open, and every component party has the right to state their stand on any subject and that their stand will be taken into consideration. In this way, DAP is indirectly telling the Chinese community that their rights are assured as DAP will continue to champion for their rights in Pakatan Rakyat.
But is this so?
Is the DAP so strong within Pakatan Rakyat  that their views will actually be taken into consideration?
I am of the opinion that this a lie .. or maybe that DAP is actually deluded over its own importance within the Pakatan Rakyat coalition.
For example, let us take the on-going tussle for the post of President of the Penang Islamic Council or MAIPP!
The State Govt (or to be specific, the DAP govt.) recommended Abdul Malik from  PKR for the post and His Majesty The Agong has consented to it and decreed that Malek be appointed to the post.
That should be the end of the story but it is not.
Now ONE man says he had promised the post to Mohd. Salleh of PAS and wanted it to be honoured!
So what happens? The State Govt is now running around and trying to get the Agong to rescind his decree to appoint Abdul Malek to the post and to appoint Mohd.Salleh instead!
If ONE man can overule the State Govt. (or DAP Govt.) .. can THAT Govt. legitimately claim that they are that powerful and their voice matters? If in such a simple matter the DAP can meekly submit itself to ONE man … what more if the WHOLE coalition does
not agree with DAP’s views?

This should be food for thought for the Chinese . Do you think that the 2 Malay-based parties in PR will agree to everything the DAP wants for the Chinese?
