Lumut flourishes
A STRONG economy and a peaceful environment is important for development to flourish in Malaysia, including in Lumut, said Transport Minister and Lumut MP Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha.
Kong said without these two factors, the town would not be able to enjoy the development taking place at the moment.
“If there are any instability, tourists will not be visiting the attractions in Lumut and investors will turn away.

“And without stability, Malaysia will not be able to achieve its forecasted growth of 5% in the second quarter of the year.
“Hence, Malaysians need to be united and make the right choice for the nation’s future when voting in the upcoming general election,” he said during the Sungai Rumput Zhi Ye temple dinner in Ayer Tawar last Saturday.
Kong had also, in his speech, lauded the temple committee for contributing back to the local community by donating RM18,200 to 33 non-governmental organisations, charity groups and Chinese schools.
“It has become an important tradition in the Chinese community to be filial and give back to the society, especially to the elderly and those in need,” said Kong, who announced an allocation of RM5,000 to help the temple.
