KANGAR: Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu has described the statement by Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak that PAS would wrest Perlis from the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 13th general election as a joke.

He said Azizan’s statement could turn the other way round with the Barisan Nasional recapturing Kedah as it was now clear that the people in the state would support Barisan.

“I know Ustaz Azizan as someone who likes to joke, thus I am certain that his statement was a political joke,” he told reporters here.

Azizan was reported by a newspaper recently that PAS would not only defend Kedah but would also wrest Perlis from Barisan.

Md Isa said the Perlis Barisan would not only win the three existing Parliament seats but all the state seats including PAS’ two seats in Sanglang and Simpang Empat. – Bernama
