Muhyiddin cautions Barisan not to be complacent after by-election wins
KUALA LUMPUR: Although Barisan Nasional has won the Galas and Batu Sapi by-elections, a general election will not be called in haste.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin cautioned component parties against becoming complacent following the double victory, saying there is still much to do.
> Barisan leaders cheer the victory, but stress the need for serious development in Sabah and Kelantan;
> The thumping win shows that the Chinese community is rooting for the coalition, says MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, adding he has taken note of problems in Galas and will resolve them as agreed in principle; and
> PAS admits there is a swing in the Malay and orang asli votes in Galas, but party members should not despair as they need to work hard for the next general election.
