BIDOR: The people must brace for a prime minister from PAS if they support Pakatan Rakyat during the 13th general election, said MCApresident Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

PAS, he said, as the dominant party in Pakatan, was well-organised and experienced compared to PKR and DAP.

He added that PAS had also announced recently that it would contest the most number of seats compared to its partners in the Opposition.

“We must always remember that we will be voting in the federal and state governments during the elections and not just the candidates.

“Thus, if you vote for Pakatan candidates, you are actually paving the way for PAS to rule the country.

“Likewise, you should vote for Barisan Nasional candidates if you want to have Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, someone who can bring progress to the country,” he said at a dinner and karaoke contest organised by the Perak Han Jiang Association and Bidor Han Jiang Association here.

Dr Chua advised the people to make comparisons between the Barisan and Pakatan in terms of their performances before proceeding to the ballot box.

He said the transformation programmes, especially the economic transformation programmes put in place by Najib three years ago, had shown promising results.

Dr Chua said Najib would need a strong mandate to continue with the programmes to transform Malaysia into a high-income nation by 2020.

He said Pakatan, with its populist policies, was set to bankrupt the country within two years if it came to power.

“Their pledges from abolishing toll and national higher education loan fund (PTPTN) and every household receiving a minimum monthly income of RM4,000 will add up to between RM190bil and RM230bil in expenses a year against the country’s RM200bil total revenue,” he added.

Dr Chua said he had raised his concern on the pledges many times, including during his recent debate with DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng but said Lim could not rebut him.

He added that Pakatan had neither an economic model nor direction for the country.

Dr Chua said DAP was only good at rhetoric and talked of corruption as well as abuse of power.

He also singled out DAP for pitting the Chinese against each other for its own survival.
