Wanita MCA – No room for misogyny in Malaysia

MCA is aghast that Kinabatangan Member of Parliament Bung Mokhtar has once again targeted the female gender in his latest gibberish spews in the august domains of Parliament. By singling out women as “reckless drivers,” His pathetic utterances betray his warped mentality which has no place in Malaysia which will only result in the regression of society.

It is a shame that despite the controversy he aroused over the “monthly leakages” remarks in 2006, he still has not learnt to recognise women as equals.

I call on all man and women irrespective of political affiliation to condemn the uncouth slurs by Bung. We are already in the 21st century where women have made great breakthroughs in all fields no unequal to man. There are women heads of state, successful entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, social workers, educators and others.

Bung should be compelled to undergo a mandatory course on the history of the women’s suffrage movement, gender equality and respecting women as equals. There is simply no room for misogyny as Malaysia progresses to achieve Vision 2020 to be a fully developed nation.
