In an interview with Channel News Asia, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad reignited his age -old racist agenda pitting Malaysia’s diverse communities against each other by racially profiling the Chinese as “rich” and “largely in business” to rationalise giving more scholarships to the Malays” to thus avoid racial conflict.

Unfortunately for multiracial Malaysians who voted in Pakatan Harapan as the new federal government on the premise of DAP's much touted Malaysian Malaysia, they least expected the carpet to be pulled off from under their feet.

All PH political parties must remind Tun Dr Mahathir that government policies should be needs and merit-based, where genuine deserving cases and disadvantaged are equally worthy of government assistance, and not be sidelined by racial stereotypes and segregation as spouted by the Prime Minister.

It is the provocation of jealousies centred on race, and discriminatory affirmative action policies to advance one race, while holding back another, which spark tension and polarisation.

Looks like the PH Baru is literally a revival of UMNO Lama!
