Crisis Relief Squad of MCA sets up North Malaysia Flood Relief Centre for disaster relief ops

 

The Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) has set up a North Malaysia Flood Relief Centre to provide support for MCA members and volunteers who are involved in disaster relief works in Penang and Kedah. At the same time, it has also started to recruit volunteers and raise funds and donations for disaster relief works.

MCA Headquarters CRSM began mobilising volunteers for relief works in Penang on 4 November 2017. Todate, two groups of volunteers from Johor and one group from Perak have reached Penang. More volunteer groups are expected to join in relief assistance.

According to media report, seven people are confirmed dead as a result of the water deluge, and 3,400 have been evacuated in the worst ever floods in Penang’s history.
